South African Relocations should not be used!

Be cautious when picking South African Relocations for your international move.

They know how the process works. They know you are overwhelmed and they are playing on your emotions and trying to undercut the competition, while also loading additional costs for "peace of mind", like insurance they don't pay out. They did a half decent job of the move, but where I can simply not recommend them is in their shady business practices.

1) I shipped my goods a month before leaving South Africa in a shared container, but it took 5 months after battling with them and their EU agent to finally get it delivered. 2) They have a clause in their T&Cs that you need to pay for exchange rate fluctuations in the case of the price changing in your quotation. I'm not a legal expert, but once you pay a quotation and receive an invoice, this no longer means you need to pay for exchange rate fluctuations, as these two things do not mean the same. Yet, they ******ed me to pay an additional 10% for exchange rate fluctuations from January to June. If I wanted my goods, I had to pay, regardless of the T&Cs not even being legally enforceable. 3) I paid additionally for all-risk insurance. Some items arrived broken, and again after months of back and forth they refuse to pay out the claim, because I emailed them a day too late, quite convenient.

Extremely shady business. You are better off selling everything in SA and not requiring a moving company!
