AVOID SA RELOCATIONS AT ALL COSTS!!

<div>AVOID SA RELOCATIONS AT ALL COSTS!! I made the mistake of engaging the services of SA Relocations about 4 months ago with the request that they transport my furniture from Cape Town to Switzerland using a so-called “shared” container as I do not own enough furniture to fill an entire container. The container was accordingly to be shared with another family relocating from Cape Town to Europe. I explained to the representative of SA Relocations, a person called ***, that I would be relocating to Switzerland with an 8 year old child and that I was a single mother. I also explained to him that I had instructed SA Relocations to collect and pack and ship my furniture weeks prior to my departure to Switzerland, so as to ensure that the furniture was in Switzerland (or, at least, about to arrive in Switzerland) once we got there. I had rented an unfurnished apartment in Switzerland while still in South Africa and I was desperately dependent on the furniture arriving at more or less the same time that we do, as we simply had no plan B. Today, some 3 months later, the container is still stuck in Cape Town Harbour and the “explanation”, given by ****, is that the container will only depart once it is full, as it is otherwise uneconomical. **** explained to me that he could give me no indication when that would be. I have now been in Switzerland for 2 weeks, without my furniture, and the container has not even left Cape Town Harbour, nor has SA Relocations furnished me with any indication as to when it will. The remarkable thing is also that SA Relocations seems to have so little customers (I guess for good reason) that it takes them months to fill a container. With so many people emigrating from South Africa it seems unbelievable that it would take any relocation company months to fill a container. ***** also explained to me that it is SA Relocations’ policy not to make contact with competitors in a situation like the present (as one would expect) to attempt to find additional cargo and to share the container with competitors, if SA Relocations was too *********** to find enough customers to fill the container. Unfortunately I did too little research on SA Relocations prior to concluding the contract with them. The website of SA Relocations gives a good indication of who that company is (there is no address, no telephone number, no details of the company that is behind SA Relocations, nor of the persons that might be in charge of that company). In addition, websites such as hellopeter.com contain countless very critical comments about the company, leaving me to suspect that the “reviews” on the website of SA Relocations are not genuine (three of them are 5 star!) while the only further one is a 4 star review. I attempted to post a review on the website of SA Relocation but while the home page makes provision for the posting of reviews the mechanism to upload a review simply does not work. The five current “reviews” on the website are, accordingly, clearly **** and are intended by SA Relocations to entice potential customers to entrust them with their business. I have now engaged the services of an attorney to assist me. Suddenly, after months of excuses, delays and lack of communication SA Relocations now at least responds to my attorney communications. My attorney has demanded of SA Relocations that they now commit to an acceptable date for the departure of the container and I have instructed my attorney to advise SA Relocations that I demand a refund of 50% of the amount which I paid to them (R110 000-00, a state of staggering amount considering that I required only half a container and considering the “service” that I have received from SA Relocations). All I can say is that, in my opinion, the “service” SA Relocations is so incredibly poor and *********** that I can only recommend that you find another service provider to assist you with your relocation. There are plenty of competitors out there who’s reputation is far better than that of SA Relocations.</div>
