12 Oct 2022, 16:38Hi Dawn,
While we are thankful for feedback from our clients where they feel we have let them down, we are well aware that you were not happy with the turnaround time of your shipment. Our normal turnaround time to the UK is around 8 weeks. Your goods arrived in the UK 12 weeks after collection due to factors in the industry at the time which we have no control over.
The industry has been hit with massive increases on shipping costs, shortage of available equipment, lack of space on vessels, strikes at ports, flooding and looting in KZN impacting ability to ship goods among other issues. Any other relocation company will tell you they have faced similar challenges over the past 18 months or so.
I have checked correspondence sent to you and Noel, and our shipping team were very forthcoming advising that stack dates had moved out repeatedly due to issues beyond our control.
We are only able to load for shipment once stacks have firmed with Transnet. We always communicated the changes to stack dates as well as newly nominated vessels which are controlled by the shipping line, not ourselves as and when new information became available.
As we explained, repeatedly, we did never in any way neglect the shipment of your goods as we rely on multiple outside parties including local authorities such as Transnet as well as the nominated shipping line servicing the route to complete the service we offer in good time.
Your goods were successfully collected at the end October 2021 and the first available booking due to the circumstances at the time was for early December.
Stacks repeatedly moved out on our booking and goods departed early January this year. Your goods were then successfully delivered without further delays.
Regretfully, by the time stacks went firm, freight costs had increased and our partner had introduced a Covid Surcharge. As explained, in our T&C's increases to costs freight, or for local authorities charges as applicable is not inclusive in our quote and is the responsibility of the client. When you accepted our quote, you acknowledged these T&C's.
It has been 10 months since receiving your goods, but it seems you have resorted to a smear campaign on our business, commenting on other clients posts on various forms of social media on an ongoing basis to date.
May I kindly request that we put this in the past and move on amicably once and for all?
Kind Regards,
Tony Hartmann
