Inadequate services at the South African Embassy in Qatar

I recently visited the South African embassy in Qatar and I had a horrible experience. To my surprise the staff members were non-South African. I required a police clearance certificate from South Africa, but the embassy could only assist withfingerprints.I was forced to use an agency, which ended up being very expensive, amounting to R10,000.

The embassy requires booking an appointment, but despite booking one,they did not respond, so I decided to go the next day since I needed an urgent stamp on my document.

Upon arrival,the lady asked if I had an appointment. I explained my situation and the urgency of my document. She instructed me to come back after two days and mentioned that they don't even make copies, despite my need for one.

When I returnined after two days, I also requested document authentication,only to be told to send it to South Africa ,because they do not provide such services.

In contrast, a friend from another country, needing the same service,received full assistance from her embassy without any hassle.

Should we be facing such struggles when we have an embassy that's supposed to provide us with support?
