HEARTLESS SACOB MANAGEMENT

I signed a contract & paid a 50% deposit in 2022, of 10k, studying part time, & working. My intention was to study towards accounting decree through Sacob. In Jan 23, a debit order of +-R800, went off my account. I received the study guides, which i have & not as yet opened the packages. During the month of Feb 23, I was diagnosed with a severe medical condition & needed hospitalization treatments, I informed Sacob asking them to, put studies on hold, until further notice. Since 2023 to date, I've been receiving hospitalization treatment & due to my medical condition, I've been medically boarded from work. Earlier today i requested SACOB to please cancel my request to study further, due to my medical condition. Ive shared all medical reports from numerous doctors, including my chronic pain medication. SACOB management informed me, I owe them an amount of +_R2k & I'm unable to get my refund of R8k. I'm unable to study further, the medication I take leaves me drowsy. Every quarter, I need treatment for +-2 days for steriods treatment to treat damaged nerves to both my hands & feet & every alternate day I must attend chemotherapy, sessions SACOB, management has NO compassion & they holding me accountable for an amount i owe them & forgetting about my 50% deposit & for a medical condition that is out of my control.

Greetings Dear Sir/Madam,Please can you assist me, During December 2022, I wanted to do a part- time bookkeeping course & I enrolled with SACOB(South African College of Business).
There were 4 Modules in this Bookkeeping course:-ICB Bookkeeping to Trial Balance,ICB Computerized Bookkeeping, ICB Payroll, ICB Business Literacy.
The total amount per Module= R4950.00 The total costs of the entire course was R19800.00.
I paid a 50% deposit of R10k during the month of Dec 22. A total amount of R15716.69, was paid to SACOB,which included 3 X debit orders, for 3 x different modules. The course began in Jan 23, where I received study materials via a courier company & I was informed , besides the study materials, there was access to online resources/classes & I had the opportunity to contact a lecturer for further assistance.
17 Jan 23: BKTB study materials received.
08 June 23: PMSR: study materials received
08 June 23: CPBK: study materials received
Debit orders, was processed on my account for the above 3x modules for an amount of R816.66, per module.
25 July 23: I informed SACOB, I was declared medically unfit & unable to study, until further notice & need medical treatments.
During the early month of February 23, I was diagnosed with a medical condition, which needed hospitalisation treatment & I was unable to study or read through the study guides, this is the reason as to why I never opened the study guides, which was packaged.
17 Jan 23: Module 1: BKTB: received, unable to complete, nor did I submit an assignment, or engaged with the online classes/resources, or lecturer, due to hospital admission and treatment.
8 June 23: Module 2: PMSR: I never completed or submitted Module 1, BKTB assignment, dated 17 Jan 23.
None of SACOB management or lecturer' made an attempt to contact me regarding my reasons for not trying or attempting by using their online resources to complete & submit Module 1 assignment.
8 June 23: Module 3: CPBK: No question asked by SACOB, as to why I never submitted Module 1 assignment or attempted to take the test, dated 17 Jan 23.
For the above 3 x modules, debit orders was processed on my account.
Every month their finance department ensured that debit orders are processed promptly, by studying students.. If not, we all aware of what happens, if there insufficient funds in the account..
My question is how does SACOB keep tract of students that don't comply with timelines or rules, by not submitting in assignments or any given task on time.
I've paid SACOB, for receiving Modules/ study guides, without submitting any assignments nor did any member of SACOB, had the decency to contact me or ever enquire as to why I never attempted to submit in any assignments. 25 July 2023, I emailed SACOB, requested them to place my studies on hold, as I was diagnosed with a medical condition, which needed hospitalisation treatment & this is the reason as to why I was unable to study. (I shared proof of all my medical history & chronic medication which has been prescribed to me by my treating doctor's to SACOB) I've engaged with SACOB, earlier today, informing them due to my current medical conditions, I've been medically boarded from work, as I need hospitalization treatments every alternate month ( Since Feb 2023, every quarter, for a period of 2 to 3 days, depending on the severity of the pain or numbness, I need steroid IV drip treatment for nerve damage to my hands & feet & every alternate week of 5 days, I undergo chemotherapy for breast cancer. Since the day I discovered my medical diagnosis I've shared all my confidential medical history with SACOB. Today, SACOB management, informed me, due to me cancelling my studies, I am liable for an amount of R2101.31 to them.

I've already paid for 3 x modules & according to SACOB I not entitled to my refund of 10k,
Please can I ask you for your assistance with a refund, according to SACOB, my reasons are not valid enough for a refund, this to me is ******* practices by a registered College.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Greetings
Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Janet James, I need your assistance, with regards to a refund for the amount of R10k, that SACOB refuses to refund, due to me.

In December 2022, I enrolled for a bookkeeping course, with SACOB(South African College of Business) & I paid the 50% deposit of R10k.

There were 4 Modules in this Bookkeeping course:-
ICB Bookkeeping to Trial Balance,
ICB Computerized Bookkeeping,
ICB Payroll,
ICB Business Literacy.

The total amount per Module= R4950.00 The total costs of the entire course was R19800.00. Total amount paid to Sacob, was +-R15k.

The course's began in Jan 23, where I received study materials via courier service & Sacob informed me, besides the study materials issued, immediate access was available to online resources/classes & I had the opportunity to contact a lecturer for further learning assistance.

Since Jan 23, to date, I never had the opportunity to study or read through the study guides.

My reasons for not studying or completing my Accounting course, was due to a medical condition discovered , during the month of February 2023.

I was diagnosed with neuropathy which causes stabbing pain, burning, tingling & numbness to my hand & feet, this condition requires, hospitalisation treatments of IV Steroids drip injections, nerve blocks, Epleptin medication, physical & occupational therapy.

After my diagnosis, I was hospitalised for a period of _+ 2/3 days, to treat the pain.

I undergo this treatment to prevent muscle weakness, loss of balance on my feet, cramps, numbness & loss of sensation or feeling in my hands & feet.

Once discharged from hospital, my recovery process was very slow & I was declared unfit to resume work, for a period of +-6 months, the prescribed pain medication Epleptin drug, dosage per day was increased from 100mg to 300mg.

I emailed proof of my medical history to Sacob, asking them to put my studies on hold, until further notice, which was accepted by them.

I received my study guides,/modules on below dates:-

17 Jan 23: BKTB
08 June 23: PMSR
08 June 23: CPB
All of the above modules/study guides were received, but due to my illnesses, I was unable to study, participate or interact with the online classes/resources.

25 July 23: I informed SACOB, I was declared medically unfit & unable to continue with my studies, until further notice. (I shared proof of my medical history), & my monthly payments was stopped.

Debit orders, have been processed, against my account since Jan 23 with an amount of R816.66, per month.
From Jan 23 to date, SACOB management or lecturer' never made any attempts to contact me regarding reasons as to why I never tried, attempted or completed & submitted in 1st Module assignment.

My question is how does SACOB keep tract of students that don't comply with stipulated timelines of assignments submissions or students who don't adhere to their rules & regulations.

They have the resources to track unpaid debit orders, & implement immediate action, preventing further studying, until payment is fully paid.
24 November 25, I've engaged with Sacob via email & telephonically, explaining to them, I wanted a refund, reasons I'm unable to continue studies, due to my illnesses.

My medical conditions have not improved, since Feb 23 to date, this is the reason I've been boarded from work; & shared proof of both medical history & boarding.

Since Feb 23, to date every quarter, I have to go for neuropathy treatments 24 November 25, SACOB finance department e-mailed me, indicating that due to cancelation of my studies, I am liable to pay them the outstanding amount of R2101.40.

I'm unable to proceed with studying further, due to medical conditions & according to SACOB email, I'm not entitled to any refunds.
I'm aware of SACOB' non refundable policy, due to cancellation of a study programme.
I have read through SACOB' NON refundable policy, as per my understanding that there is NO mention on their policy, that refunds are NON refundable for cancellations of a study programme due to any type of permanent medical conditions, disabilities or illnesses, caused after enrollment to their study programme.
Please can I ask you to engage with higher management & reconsider my requests for my refund, from SACOB.
I never intentionally planned to quit my studies, or my job, due to unforseen circumstances, I cannot complete my studies or return to work.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated, in assisting me with this request.
Thank you.
