SAB killing small emerging liquor stores

My name is Phumzile, I own a liquor outlet in the Free State (FITliciours Liquors) SAB have brought nothing but misery in our business. We trying our level best as citizens of this country to comply and build our ailing economy but no, SAB in the other hand they do the opposite and pretend to be working with the Government to build our economy instead they are killing our businesses

Our struggle, started when I submitted an application to trade with you in Jan 2023, we taken from pillar to post even about small things, your communication to us was poor even confusing your own staff, two people communicating two different things as if they don’t work for the same company. SAB only approved my application in April 2023, a day after Distill/Heineken approved my application within a week of application submission. We even suspected that someone is informing you of what Distill does.

To cut a long story short. As if that was a breakthrough for us, we ordered from SAB on couple of times and we have been struggling since to receive our orders. on the days allocated to us. What is worse SAB let us pay for orders and they don’t deliver. Our money sits with them while we battling to borrow more money to keep our doors open and you seem not to care cos this behaviour continues to happen without any form of intervention. We ask ourselves how do SAB build us when they in fact killing us. That is why many small outlet are struggling to survive, you adding to their struggles. You know when you start selling it is not available, then you start loosing customers until your businesses closes. SAB seem not to care, I am here to voice out how we are treated by you unfairly especially when they not doing what you suppose to do when have have our money with you. I hope someone who has a vast knowledge of consumer protection can help us. I tell you, if this can reach as many liquor businesses as possible, many people are going to come out and tell their stories. If our businesses can’t strive, we have to lay off employees and unemployment will increase more.

Today is the 4th week without delivery and I fully paid for my order.

SAB must Keep your house in order, cos there is a lot I can point out that you do to us regularly
