Empty can

I went to Shoprite Liqour outlet in Atlantis. I bought 5 six packs of brutal fruit. The one 6 pack were cans. When I unpacked the ciders I found one can that was not opened but was empty. There was a hole at the bottom of the can made through the plastic. The can had dents in. I went back to Shoprite they gave me a another can. How does the happen as there were no traces of liqour in the plastic so I assuming that the contents must have been consumed between the 2 points of delivery.
