Is SABS classification worth the effort?

Good morning, I am kindly asking for advice. I would like to have a safety device implemented into the OHS Act . I was recommended that I have the device classified by the SABS. Is this worth the expense and effort? Is it a requirement? has anyone reading this been involved with the SABS and were the results worth the effort?
