Orders take forever to be delivered

I ordered an entertainment system for my Prado from Sound Louder. After telling me it would take 2 weeks to deliver it took more than 5 weeks to be delivered and I was told it was because the shipment was stuck at customs. When I asked for assistance to have the unit fitted I was told that there was a part missing and they had ordered it. Again, I was told it would be delivered within a week; now more than 3 weeks later I still don't have the part, and surprise, surprise I'm told the shipment is stuck at customs.

HI Roland

Thank you for addressing this matter on this platform as it allows others to benefit from the outcome of the case. It is essential to clarify the following information to provide accurate information for public benefit. Firstly i would like to refute the claims made that the order was delivered and when installation installation was requested a part was missing as untrue and some information is deliberately omitted to create a negative image.

The order was delivered to an address provided by you with no installation required and the order was deemed complete and delivered.

As per the information provided by you a different fitment company was requested to provide installation and failed to install. An installation request was subsequently requested with us and our technicians arrived at the installation and attempted the installation and realised the previous installers made a lot of errors which resulted in them being unsuccessful with the installation. The installation was corrected and he realised a part was missing from the package you had handed over to him which could've been lost by the technicians who had previously worked on the vehicle and he immediately informed us to which we made arrangements to order this part at no additional cost to you.

Unfortunately as this is a component is not a separate accessory this  needs to be ordered directly with the factory and as communicated via mail with you we are still awaiting for delivery. Once this has been delivered the installation will be completed and we will be able to mark the booking as complete.

You are more than welcome to contact us should you need further assistance with anything else

Your response intentionally omits and distorts the details to deflect responsibility; let me fill in the details:

  1. I did not deliberately omit any information to create a negative image, I don't need to, your customer service, or lack thereof, creates the negative image.
  2. The original order for the sound system took OVER FIVE WEEKS to be delivered, despite your website and staff promising it would be delivered within 2 weeks
  3. It is true that I initially arranged for the unit to be fitted by another technician, however, it is untrue that that technician "made a lot of errors", they simply did not complete the installation, and the work your technician did was to complete that work, which is what I paid for.
  4. You first say it is "untrue" that a part was missing, then later say "he realised a part was missing".
  5. You also admit that the part "could've been lost by the technicians" who previously worked on the vehicle, because your technician could not be certain that the part was delivered in the original package.
  6. In reality, whether the part was missing or lost is not the issue, the issue, as stated in my original post, is how long it has taken for the original unit, and for the part, to be delivered.
  7. It is now more than TWO MONTHS after the part was ordered, and I still have not received it!
  • In December I was told that the part had arrived and but was stuck in customs (An excuse that was used with the original order as well?!?)
  • In early January I was told the part had been received, but was lost in the warehouse (???)
  • In your response above you say "we are still awaiting for delivery"
(Which of these lines should I believe?)
  • This morning I received an email from your company indicating that a new purchase order had been placed for the part (Makes me wonder if the original part order was ever raised?), and will be delivered on 6 February (Be interesting to see how long it actually takes)
8. Throughout this 3 MONTH ORDEAL the feedback from your company has been pathetic, with responses to emails and messages sometimes taking as long as 2 weeks.

Your response does not surprise me as it follows the trend off responses I have received from your company; trying to deflect blame, failure to accept any responsibility and complete failure to recognize and address a frustrated customer who has paid more than R20,000 to your company and after 3 months still doesn't have a working sound system!

AS a follow up to my comments above...
The last correspondence I received from this company was that they had reordered the part and that it would be delivered on 6 February 2023, it is now over 2 weeks since the part was supposed to arrive, and despite numerous emails I am yet to have any response from thiscompany!!! This is the second time the part has been ordered, and it is almost 3 months since it was first ordered and I am still without the part!

Another week has passed and no response at all from Soundlouder to any of my numerous emails asking for feedback, their customer service is pathetic!
