Sorbet Umhlanga has always been my "go to" place for my bi-annual mani/pedi, which is a real treat for me. In December I did my usual Christmas treat and was not happy at all. The poor staff looked and acted exhausted, and switched off, which is understandable for the season. I had my pedi first and removed my 4 toe rings. This is the ONLY time I ever removed my toe rings. On moving from the pedi chair to mani station I picked up my rings and popped them in the side of my bag. On arriving home I found I was missing one ring - a thin gold toe ring. I called in and was told they would look and call me back if they found it. A few days later I heard nothing so called in again as was told they had not found it. Taking a chance a few days later I went in person to ask if they had found. I explained this particular ring had been left to me by my sister in the USA who had passed away suddenly at the end of August 2025. I asked if they had checked under the chair/in the vacuum, etc, as was told no it was not found. The reception lady did not even stand up, or express any sympathy or regret over my loss, or loss of my mimento left to me by by sister. Blank expression, expressional communication. I just turned around and walked out and will not be back. Not because of the tired staff, or not the greatest mani/pedi I had ever had, but because of their lack of care and concern. It has taken me a while to post this, but I have to do it for myself and my extreme sadness on losing the only personal mimento from my Angel sister.
