Unprofessional conduct

Had a very disappointing argument with Christi the manager of sorbet at the Hilton branch. I had been requesting a specific popular colour for the passed 5 months. It’s always not being ORDERED. I confronted Christ about this. She gaurantees it’s been in stock and the girls at FDC are not informing me. I then show her all my WhatsApp messages which are 2weekly or monthly to ask if the if the product is back in stock. She became defensive and told me there are so many women with so many favorite colours and she can’t stock all of them and that she has one of the largest stocks in the country. I find it so hard to believe that statement being a frequent visitor to sorbet and not hearing any of the guests order any of those colours she’s deemed their favourite. I don’t have her stats, but let’s ask for it and I can assure you it’s not a frequent order. Nonetheless I reminded her why the colour I wanted is so popular, and she alleges that’s why it gets finished. I remind it’s not finished, it’s never in stock and it’s not ordered. Then she says the supplier is out of stock. Another lie, because I’ve tried ordering from the supplier that has confirmed it is in stock nationwide, but I am not a qualified nail technician and therefore cannot buy it. Christi then continue to gaslight every statement I made, instead of validating the truth. I don’t go to make her feel ashamed. I went looking for truthful answers so I could understand. Instead she told me I am welcome to go somewhere else to do my nails. I told her I have done many times because they all seem to have these colours that are popular in stock as they are regularly ordered, despite not having the 7 different colours that she’s mentioned is everyone’s favourite, or the fact that they don’t have as many colours as her.

Hearing as a consumer, my experience, feelings is supposed to be received with validation or honest rebutted. Not defensive gaslighting and switching from one lie to the next.

It is highly unprofessional to down to a customer who confronts you with facts and you the manager, instead of taking accountability, run and hide in shame under a belt of defensive and malice to project onto the customer that the customer is wrong, or the FDC is wrong.

From one professional to the next. Do better. Be kinder. Be professional. Seek to understand and listen instead of defending a lie you so firmly believe
