Poor Service and Treatment: Cape Gate Sorbet
I had a massage done at the Cape Gate Sorbet Salon on 23 November 2022. Needless to say, my previous treatments there were not great either. I was very unhappy with the service so I spoke to two other beauty the******s to gain more perspective. I gave my feedback on the link sent to me via sms – no follow up was made from the salon. I thereafter reported the issue to Sorbet head office on 29 November 2022. After a series of emails for a week, I was told that the salon would contact me. I even had to follow up last week, to no avail. The complaint remains unresolved. My experience was terrible for the following reasons: 1. The the****** asked what type of pressure I wanted. I confirmed that I wanted firm pressure. When she commenced, it felt like she was just lightly applying lotion on my skin. I had to tell her to increase the pressure. She only did this occasionally and continued as if she didn't want to do the massage. 2. She wore gloves on her hands during the massage. This is really disgusting service to say the least. I have never had a the****** use gloves during any previous massage I've done at your salon or any other. This gave me the impression that she thought I am dirty. 3. She massaged me on my spine with her arm very firmly. I don't think she has any experience or knows what she is doing. 4. She never asked me what areas were of concern to me to ensure that I got what I wanted out of the massage. 5. She made me feel like she really didn't want to do the massage. 6. I had returned from a long flight the previous day. I did not feel any better after the massage. In fact, my legs started to pain shortly after leaving the salon. Caveat Emptor – sorbet sells their franchise to anyone and their uncle willing to buy. There is no longer any vetting process so literally the owners don’t give a **** about complaints. Im told that they will hire anybody off the street and allow them to conduct beauty treatments with minimal “in house” training. Thus, you are paying exorbitant prices for “the******s” who have no formal beauty training / education. The owners use cheap labour for your treatments and pay the******s poor salaries because of their lack of skills / education – vicious cycle. Where once you paid high prices for great service, you now pay higher prices for unprofessional **** service. Needless to say, I will be unfollowing Sorbet on social media and never going to any of their salons again. No wonder they are using all these ****ty “influencers” to market their salons – cant afford proper advertising…
We apologise for what has happened. That is not the Sorbet experience we want for any of our guests. We have escalated this to our guest relations department, a representative will be in touch.
Kind regards,
