Disappointing service from Sorbet Westville
Extremely Disappointed with Sorbet Westville Mall
I recently visited Sorbet in Westville Mall, expecting a professional experience, but unfortunately, it was one of the worst salon visits I’ve ever had.
From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome. Four staff members stood behind the desk, taking my details, but then proceeded to talk to each other in Zulu while staring directly at me. I even tried smiling to ease the tension, but I was met with blank looks and no effort to make me feel comfortable.
I booked both a power pedi and an acrylic nail set, but the experience, particularly with the acrylics done by Thandeka, was extremely disappointing. Thandeka seemed annoyed by my presence and unwilling to accommodate even the simplest requests. When I asked for a basic flower design, I was told I should’ve called ahead to request it. I then asked for almond-shaped nails but was told they didn’t have the right tips. When I suggested shaping the tips into an almond shape, I was met with a dismissive look as if I’d said something absurd.
The service itself was painful—the buffing and cuticle push-back left my nail beds sore. Thandeka didn’t communicate with me during the session, which felt odd because I noticed other nail techs chatting with their clients. On top of that, when I finally settled for a French tip design (the only option available), the gel was chipped at the corners by the time the set was finished.
This entire experience left me feeling unwelcome, embarrassed, and disappointed. I paid a premium for results that were nowhere near professional standards.
I will not be returning to this Sorbet branch, and I strongly advise others to avoid it as well. They act like the bare minimum is too much to ask and deliver subpar results at high costs.
We apologise for what has happened. That is not the Sorbet experience we want for any of our guests. We have escalated this to our guest relations department, a representative will be in touch.
Kind regards,
Sorbet Group
