Disappointing experience and poor service as Sorbet Westville Mall

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Sorbet Westville Mall. Thandeka made me feel as though I was bothering her just by being there. I went in specifically for an acrylic French fill, but she told me that I wouldn’t be able to adjust the placement of the white line and ended up applying French tips with gel instead. Two days later, the gel started lifting.

I called the salon, and they asked me to come back in. However, Noni, who is supposedly the manager, refused to soak off the nails and only had Sima buff off the gel and reapply it. Now I’m right back where I started, with the gel lifting again. When I called about this, I was promised a callback, but hours later, I was still waiting.

When called a second time, I spoke to the owner, Nas, who claimed it was my responsibility since I didn’t originally get the full set done there. She said, “We tell people if they do their nails at other salons, we cannot do a fill as it will lift due to different products being used.” I was speechless firstly because no one mentioned this to me and secondly, as they knew from my very first appointment that I had not done the original set with them. Despite knowing this, they still app**** gel over something they suspected would lift, not once but twice.

I specifically requested acrylic but wasn’t listened to, and now I’m left with nails that need to be redone. The service at Sorbet Westville feels very much like a “take it or leave it” approach, which is unacceptable considering the price I paid for a brand I thought I could trust. I’m extremely disappointed, and I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone expecting quality service.
