Water resistant phone

For my upgrade for my vodacom contact I took I Sony XPERIA Z1 compact. I took it out because it was supposed to water resistant. The upgrade was in September 2014. By November 2014 I try to took a pic under water and the screen when back. I handed it in at the vodacom branch. They send it for repairs. By January 2015 I still have not heard anything by end of march they told me that the phone couldn't be repaired and that I have to take it up with Sony. In the booklet it stands that this phone can be use up to 3meters under water. I feel that Sony is mis guiding or misleading the customer. Im not happy with the way they are just doing this. The phone is still with vodacom and they said I have to take it up with Sony. At the end of the day im paying for something that I can't use. Sony have to replace the phone. Dont mislead the customer and then don't want to replace the phone. For me that is bad.
