The very un - waterproof Sony Xperia Z3

Pretty much the same as every other report....whilst I stood and watched, my son made sure all the ports were closed and put the phone underwater to show his friends how 'good' the phone was. When he lifted it out of the water the screen went blank and wouldn't restart! We took the phone to MTN Menlyn who, as MTN do very well, passed the buck onto their repair center in Midrand. We made the trip to Midrand based on false promises and assurances from the consultant at Menlyn. Besides the lady behind the desk being downright rude, we were told that an analysis will be done and we would in all likelihood have to pay for this analysis. Strangely enough the analysis showed water damage and that the warranty was void! Immediately we were asked if we have insurance. So what MTN in conjunction with Sony are doing is trying to get another sale by making the insurance company pay. Sony and MTN should take responsibility for false advertising, man up, and pay for each water damaged phone. I will never use MTN, nor will I ever buy any other Sony product because of this. They might have won this round, but I'll make sure they don't win the battle!
