Sony Z3 not waterproof

I reluctantly changed brands of cell phones after owning only Samsung's but Sony's Z3 \Waterproof"cell phone was to much to resist with adverts of people diving into water and taking pictures underwater I thought it stood above the rest so I purchased one. After owning it for about 2 months I read carefully all the terms and conditions to the waterproofing being a new concept to stick your phone underwater I wanted to make sure I read everything before I tried. Long story short after putting the phone in fresh water and taking just a few pics the phone stopped working. I didn't think twice and took it back to vodaworld thinking it wouldn't be a problem because it must be a warranty claim. After 3-4 weeks I decided to contact them to find out what was going on and they told me the phone is a write off due to user issues and they won't fix or replace the phone under warranty so I phoned Sony only to get a professional lady who is clearly trained to push issues like this away. Sony won't go so far as to even look at the phone they are completely relying on a third party repair centre who has simply written the phone off due to water damage."""
