Sony Z3 advertised as waterproof and it is not

I have had my sony z3 since end on November and was really impressed with the phone (moved from Iphone). I never tried submerging the phone or taking photos underwater until last weekend. Curiosity got the better of me and I had to try it, I mean it looked so nice on the television advert so the phone should not break. The phone was submerged with all ports firmly closed in less than 1ft of water for less than 30 seconds. When I wanted to take a look at the photo the screen started flashing and went blank. I took the phone to Vodacom repair centre and they said it had water damage beyond economical repair. I tried Sony contact centre and was shocked at their service not sounding willing to help at all. They also said that I probably didn't have the ports completely shut as if they were present at the time of the incident and as if I am intellectually impaired. This to me is blatant false advertising to which sony is not willing to owe up. It is completely against the consumer act. I will not leave it here and expect sony to replace my damaged phone or better give me an Iphone. Atleast Apple always fixed faults on their side, Sony doesn't even want to admit to their fault.
