Sony Xperia Z1 Compact water damage
I purchased a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact a couple of months ago. This is the second Xperia I have owned (the first being a full-size unit which still works perfectly).

At the end of December I lightly rinsed the unit under a tap and it immediately switched off and stopped working. The unit was at all times in a rubber case that covers all of the flaps with the exception of the Power flap, *which was fully closed at the time*.

The phone was handed in at the local Sony Service Centre (SSS Cellular) but I was informed today that the unit \passed all their water ingress tests"and will therefore not be replaced / repaired.

I find it really strange that the system could pass their \""tests\"" and yet cannot survive being rinsed under a tap.

I think that the whole way in which the situation was handled and the way in which Sony advertise their \""waterproof phone\"" is misleading and frankly dishonest.

This will be the last Sony product I purchase.
