Sony M4 Aqua Complaint

I purchased a Sony M4 Aqua in November 2015; I've heard great things about this phone. BUT after a year, it started over heating, freezing and faulty signal. I was told that Telkom will send it to their technicians. I was contacted by a technician stating that my phone is B.E.R (Beyond Economical Repair); furthermore I was then told to pay R188.00 to retrieve my unit. When I collected my phone it was DEAD. It wouldn’t switch on, (only the name flickers the whole time). Phoned them and they stated that the motherboard is messed up.

Today, upon complaining about this to my service provider, I had learnt that this was a common problem as most of these units was returned by users as it was defective. I am now left without a phone for the duration of my contract for something that is a manufacturing/device fault, which should have never been my problem in the first place. I am paying for something I cannot make use of. Furthermore, why are there little to no Sony stores that we can take our phones to in order to have them repaired?? It was a waste of my time, energy and money today trying to sort this issue out.

I hereby request that Sony responds with a viable solution as to the way forward. As a customer I feel it is unfair that I am paying a monthly fee of R302.50 for a defective device and was not offered any option to compensate for this, let alone a replacement phone.
