Sony Experia Z3 water damage

As a big fan of Sony i am very disappointed in the sony experia z3. After a very hard decision of what phone to upgrade to, I chose a sony experia z3 because im a big sony fan. They always deliver and never disappoints. I have Sony products from a sony ps4 to a sony sound system. but after what happened to my sony experia z3, I don't know if i feel as strongly about sony as i used to. i had my experia z3 for 9 days, and because it is a waterproof phone (as advertised), i decided to try it out. After double checking if all ports of the phone is closed before presenting the phone to the water. I then insert the phone in the water to test it and tryed to take a photo. It was in the water for not more than ten seconds when the screen went dead. according to sonny this phone has the highest waterproof rating. And it is waterproof not water resistant. So I'm confused to why this would happen after the ports WAS closed!!! I then took my phone to Vodacom. Waited for my phone more than a month. And when i got it back they said they cant repair it. It has water damage. They cant do anything. I'm furious that I'm paying for something that i don't even have. I would like this issue resolved.
