Sony And Vodacom mess me around... AGAIN!

I am not surprised that once again these 2 companies have messed me around. About 18 months ago 1 of my 2, newly upgraded Sony Z3's back cover shattered mysteriously after making a series of calls. After 2 months of arguing, begging and pleading with Vodacom they finally fixed the faulty phone. About a month later the second one's back cover cracked but because of the palava and hassle with the first one I never reported it as it was still working fine and the phone was in a cover anyway. The phone worked fine until about a month ago when the home and back button on the touch screen stopped working. I knew it probably wasn't the touchscreen as the unlock button in the same position as the home button on the screen still worked. I proceded to do a software upgrade and software reinstall as stated by Sony but to no avail. Knowing that the phone was still under its 2 year warranty, I took the phone in to be repaired. But unsurprisingly Vodacom came back saying that the warranty is void because of the crack and it will cost me R1900??!! Now I ask, How are the crack on a thin glass cover and an untimely software issue related?? A more pressing question is, "Can sony produce a product that lasts the contract period... WITHOUT BREAKING??!! This is a major inconvenience and I'm not impressed with the level of quality and service received from 2 companies that promote the opposite. How is possible that these companies can do this twice to the same person??
