False and Misleading advertising by Sony Mobile

My Sony Z3 compact handset started malfunctioning when it got exposed to running tap water, I feel Sony falsely advertised and misleads consumers to buying their devices by saying that the handset is water resistance and can go under water when sealed for not more than 30 mins as the handset's best feature. My device got faultily within standard use and during correct usage as advised in the user manual. I don't understand why they phone can be deemed beyond repairs by MTN from rinsing the screen with running tap water , Imagine if I actually went swimming with it? . Now according to MTN's repair center the phone is beyond repairs, this means I will now be paying for a contract phone that stopped working during warranty because of you false adverting.

This is false and misleading advertising because I bought the device purely for the fact that is a water proof smart phone. If Sony takes no responsibility for their phone's waterproof functionality malfunctioning and this will be in contravention of the Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) act and I intent to report it to the ASASA (Adverting Standard Authority of South Africa.
