false advertising

My Sony Experia, which is advertised as a water resistant phone, has been damaged due to falling into water. I have been to Vodashop, Port Elizabeth to report the matter, to my suprise-they could not help me. Vodashop wants to repair the unit however, i need to pay for the service. i feel this is a case of false advertising. i was informed that this phone can stay in water for over a minute however, it was in water for less than 10 seconds, only to have a blank screen as a result. i am very dissappointed by this and moreover, the fact that vodacom can not assist, after having sold the unit to me.
