EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE WITH SOMETHING TIMBER

I asked Devan from Something Timber to quote on a number of items at my new home including, waterproofing, tiling and general handyman work. Although I had bought most of the materials needed he asked for a 70% deposit which I paid. From then on our experience was a nightmare. Devan didn't arrive on the first day and this carried on for almost two weeks. Every day was a different excuse. The communication was either poor or completely non existent. When he finally did arrive he was sulky and insolent. His workmanship was sloppy, he used the incorrect materials and he was extremely unpleasant to have around. We asked him to refund us two weeks ago as his workmanship and attitude was so poor we did not want him to continue. It has since cost us over and above what we paid him, an additional R6000 to fix what he messed up and we have found more issues since. We have not been refunded and requests have met with more insolence. I would definitely not use Devan from Something Timber for anything at all as it was the most unpleasant experience with Contractors I have ever had. Don't be fooled by his website as I was. There is nothing professional about Something Timber. We had a number of other contractors doing work at our home and our dealings with them were thankfully superb.
