They made me pay THOUSANDS OF RANDS for an error they caused

I spent thousands of Rands and they gave me the wrong boards and refused to refund me for their mishap.

I purchased boards and I asked for a specific size, but they gave me and made me pay for the wrong size.

When I made the order I was very specific of the size, and when I got a higher quote than expected I asked if the details were correct and the clerk confirmed that they were. I paid, fetched my boards and then went to hand them over to my contractor. Minutes later (after already having started work), we realised that the boards were too thick.

I went to Somerset Timbers, they confirmed that the issue was on their side - that they were responsible for giving me boards that were too thick... however they refused to compensate for the fault that was their doing.

Ultimately they tried to flip the blame on the customer, and said that it was my fault that I did not check the boards when I collected them - this logic doesn't make sense because nobody checks a 2L bottle of milk before they leave the store.

I am so disappointed in these people and hope that others learn from my (expensive) experience with them.
