Terrible service, no communication. lazy staff

<p>Hi, I had the unfortunate experience of having to take my friend to Somerset Hospital after having been referred by her GP. She had an acute abdomen and had been in a huge amount of pain for many hours.</p> <p> The staff, nurses and receptionists, were completely uninterested in providing her with some sort of immediate care. Their communication to patients is ********** and we had to ask many times what we had to do to expedite the process so that she could see a doctor. </p> <p>I understand that their is a triage system in place but this was not evident today. Furthermore, the trauma/emergency section of the hospital did not appear to be too busy. There were also no wheelchairs. </p> <p>It is my understanding that nurses choose this profession because they genuinely have compassion for people. This could not be further from the truth.</p> <p>Added to this, the "security guard" was slouching and seemed totally uninterested in his job. People were walking past him and he was not vetting them.</p> <p>I really do think that more needs to be done at this hospital to assist patients who need emergency care.</p>
