Somerset Hospital Horror

I am highly concerned about the treatment that patients are enduring at this maternity ward in Somerset Hospital. I have had a traumatic experience over the last week, 6 months pregnant with preeclampsia and my health deteriorated while being admitted there due to stress and unhygienic practices and conditions of the ward. Rude and *********** nurses who think they know it all, arguing with patients and shouting back when asked for help - WHO's looking for who, FOR WHAT?! DO not follow the Drs orders or listen to patients concerns. You are simply told to go sleep at 9pm and only call them when there is a problem. you mainly just get your pain tablets so that you go sleep. It was a nightmare. it was horrific. There needs to be senior staff on duty at all times to supervise these nurse, cleaners included. That is not a hospital, that is where you go to die. When the trf me to Groote schuur I cried in the vehicle with relief and finally felt safe. It's not okay to make pregnant women feel like that especially with problematic pregnancy. I finally understand what a lab animal feels like. And not to forget to mention we as patients were reminded that we are the property of the hospital-that says it all.
