Complaint Regarding Malpractice and Negligence at Seshego Hospital MEC of Health (Limpopo),

I am writing to bring to your attention the appalling experience my family and I encountered at Seshego Hospital on the 14th of April, 2024, regarding the treatment and care provided to my father. On the aforementioned date, we brought my father to Seshego Hospital at 17:00, seeking medical attention. However, the ordeal we faced during our time at the hospital was deeply distressing and unacceptable. Despite arriving at the hospital in the evening, my father was only admitted the following morning at approximately 08:00 or 09:00, after enduring a waiting period of nearly 17 hours. Throughout this extensive waiting period, we were subjected to utter disregard and neglect from both the medical staff and nursing personnel. Despite our attempts to seek assistance and inquire about my father's condition, we were consistently ignored and left unattended.The most concerning incident occurred during the early hours of the morning, around 02:42, when we witnessed a distressing scene near the porter room adjacent to the casualty entrance. A call was received from a sister requesting assistance at the maternity ward. Shockingly, the individuals tasked with responding to this call were found sleeping inside the room, blatantly neglecting their duties. We have recorded a voice clip capturing this incident, which I am prepared to share as evidence of the gross misconduct and negligence exhibited by the hospital staff.Furthermore, it came to our attention that certain members of the nursing staff, particularly those working the night shift, engage in highly unprofessional behavior. They have been observed covering windows with plastic sheets upon commencing their shift at 19:00, which raises serious concerns regarding their commitment to patient care and safety.I am urging you to initiate a thorough investigation into these alarming incidents of malpractice and negligence at Seshego Hospital. It is imperative that swift action be taken to hold accountable those responsible for compromising the well-being and safety of patients. Families should not have to endure such distressing experiences, and the integrity of our healthcare system must be upheld at all costs.I trust that you will take immediate and decisive action to address these grievances and implement measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
