Exploitation of Owners During Covid

This company has exploited owners during lockdown. They have charged exorbitant interest as they are not only a property management company but double up as a debt agency. They charge interest on outstanding arrears(understandable) but then they also charge a monitoring fee of R200 , debt collection fee of R552 and an sms fee of R26 and legal fees. They may be excellent for Body Corporates but at the expense of exploiting owners. If you are a Body Corporate and you want to uphold your image, this is the wrong company. They are not fair.

 Dear Client

Thank you for your feedback but I think you may be misinformed.

1.      Kindly note that interest is charged determined and charged by the complex (Not Solver – we merely carry out the Complex’s instructions). 2.      As for arrears, please be advised that we send out 6 reminders (Via email / SMS) before it enters a debt collection “status”. We believe that this is more than fair and it allows the non-payers more than enough time to contact our offices to set up a payment arrangement. 3.      If an owner decides to ignore the reminders, unfortunately, they become liable for all collection and legal fees (as prescribed by the debt collection council).

Whilst we take your feedback into consideration, unfortunately, we disagree. Considering the fact that 6 reminder messages have gone out, we think that this is more than fair. Owners need to be reminded that they have an obligation to pay, and if they can’t, they have a responsibility to set up a payment arrangement.
