Solopro did more in 5 days than what Outsurance could not accomplish in nine days! After the severe hailstorm hit our area a few weeks ago, I immediately contacted Outsurance to log a claim. I was informed that my policy includes assistance with securing the structure and cleaning up while the claim was being processed. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of claims, Outsurance was unable to appoint any contractor. With my entire garage roof having collapsed onto my vehicles and appliances, and water and hail pouring in from all directions, I had no choice but to seek help elsewhere. This was the worst hailstorm I have experienced in nearly 20 years living in this area. I contacted Solopro, after being advised by Outsurance they have no contractor available to assist, for urgent assistance, but even they had to wait for Outsurance to issue a mandate before proceeding. After following up with Outsurance again, Solopro finally received approval and arrived early the very next morning. By then, the damage was extensive and the situation extremely stressful. Given Solopro’s professionalism and efficiency in securing the structure and completing the cleanup, I requested a quotation from them. Outsurance initially advised me the claim has been approved, then later informed me that another contractor had been appointed. To this day, that contractor has never contacted me. Outsurance then attempted to proceed with an assessor’s estimate — not from a qualified contractor — of R35,000 to repair a garage large enough to house three vehicles and multiple electrical appliances. I questioned both the amount and the assessor’s qualifications, after which another contractor was sent out, whose estimate was significantly higher and far more realistic. In total, it took Outsurance nine days to finalize the claim. In contrast, Solopro rebuilt sections of the garage, replaced the roofing, reconnected the electricity, and completed a full cleanup within five days — all in the same week contractors were closing for the year. They urgently sourced materials and ensured sufficient manpower so that I could safely park my vehicles and move my appliances back into the garage before Christmas.
