Appalling Service from Solco Solar Company

This is a factual review on the shocking service I got from company Director Bernard Ridge - and Solco Solar. I was recommended by a friend who had had used him. May this serve as a warning to all of you considering to use this company. I had a 9 panel system with 2 inverters initially installed. The system kept tripping despite full days of sunshine and for months this scenario played out with technicians called out regularly to check why this is happening. Each time I was promised the problem was solved. Bernard in the meantime relocated to KZN with assurances that all would be managed well from afar. I was still using more City Power than I was comfortable with. Finally after much pleading to please sort this out he then installed anew brand system that was going to solve all the problems. It gets worse as this was a totally new brand that he was not totally fami**** with. Naturally it did not work effectively. I was continually updating him on the problems we were having and asking questions - all via Whats App and I guess because he had no ability to answer these queries - he blocked me. That's totally unprofessional. In desperation I contacted a supplier of my new system. Within days I had a report on the situation which found that Solco had done an ******* and dangerous installation. The report found several technical problems with incorrect connections plus2 of the 9 panels were different and had different data ratings; batteries were not set . The installation was not earthed and I was not provided a Certificate of Compliance. All this information was sent to Bernard with the request to repair these problems. Needless to say I have had no response from neither him nor his office. I have had to proceed with another company to do repairs for safety and efficiency. Please be warned of this appalling follow up service from Solco and Bernard Ridge.

Naturally we are disappointed you feel this way Carla , but would like to say we are still here for you and our Johannesburg office can be reached on *** or via mobile *** (also WhatsApp )
Although We have set up a branch to service our Natal Customers we still have a full service  and competent teams available servicing our 6000 plus  clients in Gauteng .
I don't want to get into all the details on this forum but the following applies .
We Initially quoted for a larger system especially on the batteries ,
You did say that as long as you had lights ,tv and security on the backup you would be happy
You subsequently added a borehole pump , pressure pump , A tenant in the spare room with   oven , microwave , kettle  etc  to the backup system causing the batteries to overload .
we then upgraded you to a hybrid inverter which would have allowed you to feed the solar to the entire house including the outside flat and tenant room with the batteries only supplying lights , tv , security and the pressure pump .
You would not allow us to wire up the system as it should be feeding the entire property with Solar and  eliminating the Tenants plugs from the essential loads  causing the batteries to still overload .
with regards the COC, we do now issue COC,s with every job as its a requirement
when your system was installed  your quote clearly stated that COC's would be issued on completion and was not included in the quote .
