Solar Man resorts to scaly practices to evade responsibility

Do not expect after-sale service. I purchased panels, batteries and an inverter from Solar Man. The inverter was faulty, took weeks for them to investigate. Notwithstanding warranty on inverter, they tried to charge me for repair. I also tried to contact Solar Man unsuccessfully - my call was rejected and messages ignored. Money making racket.

Details: A Schubart 5KW solar inverter was purchased from Solar Man. The inverter did not perform as expected from installation despite being installed by an installer recommended by Solar Man staff. The inverter failed completely within six months of installation (within the 12-month warranty period from purchase) but Solar Man refuses to honour the product warranty and request payment for the inverter to be repaired.

Details of steps taken to resolve: 1. Report deviation of product operation and requested assistance. Request ignored by Solar Man. 2. Return faulty product to Solar Man for repair or replacement. 2.a. Solar Man provided a faulty replacement inverter that failed on the same day it was installed. Solar Man did not cover the installation costs of a recommended (by Solar Man) third-party installer. 3. Liaise with Solar Man about warranty. Solar Man refuses to honour product warranty. 4. Solar Man claim that the failure code (code 9) is not covered in the inverter warranty but the inverter's manual states that code 9 denotes "internal component failure." So, Solar Man states that there is a warranty on the inverter, unless an internal component in the inverter fails, i.e. if anything goes wrong with the inverter the warranty is voided, even within the warranty term.

Conclusion: Solar Man resorts to scaly practices to evade responsibility.
