Live in JHB? Don't use Solar Advice!
I recently used Solar Advice for a solar panel installation, but unfortunately, their after-sales service was extremely disappointing. While their website appears professional, the actual service I received was far from it.
The installation process started in September 2022 and took months to complete. I had to follow up with the installers every day as they frequently missed appointments without informing me. When the installation was finally finished, I was shocked to discover that almost every SABS code related to solar installations had been violated. To make matters worse, they issued a CoC without even inspecting the installation.
I tried to get the issue resolved by contacting them hundreds of times via email and phone calls. However, it took several more months for them to fix the installation properly. Throughout the process, the installers **** repeatedly, coming up with various excuses for why they couldn't make appointments.
Now, almost 7 months later, I'm still trying to get a CoC from them. I've contacted them more than 20 times, but they're simply ignoring me. I've tried to be reasonable and patient, but I feel it's important for others in Gauteng to know the state of this company. I've noticed that all the good reviews on their website are from Cape Town, so if you're in Gauteng, I suggest finding another provider to avoid the hassle and frustration I experienced.
Please see a break down of events below:
* The initial install was done by the previous contractor. They had to come back over Oct and Nov (2022) to try and rectify there initial install and setup the inverter. At this time the inverter was also changed from Lux to Deye.* After a number of empty promises from the previous contractor, delays and the December holidays, we got new contractors to come out and redo the installation.*Needless to say we do not use the previous contractors. We apologize that you had to go through this experience.* Lennon and his team came to rectify the install. We know this took a little longer to set up and once Lennon and his team were on site they found additional work that needed to be done.* All was completed in March of this year.* We have arranged with Lennon to come out and go through the system, installation and wiring with you and sign off the COC. I can assure you the installation has been done correctly and as per SANS requirements.
We acknowledge your frustration with the whole experience and apologies for this.
