Excellent installation team!

First and foremost I must commend the installation team lead by Mr Da Silva. They had excellent communication and organization from the first moment they contacted me, right up until the present day, as Mr Da Silva still checks in from time to time to ensure that the system is running as it should. The installation team was punctual, professional and friendly and managed to install the whole system, panels, inverter, battery and wiring in half a day. Where I've encountered issues is on the admin side, with a lack of future-facing communication. I've often had to ask what the next step is, and when it's going to happen. It took many emails and phone calls before I heard anything about the CoCT application forms, COC or electrical diagrams. Kindly note that this is a R5700 optional, paid-for service. The same can be said for their financing partner, Merchant West. Sure the service is decent, but almost a total lack of communication. I get sent forms to sign. No explanation. No accompanying email or phonecall. What I think is lost on both companies, is that this is mostly a residential consumer facing product. Your average person doesn't know how these systems work before-hand. All they know is that they're committing to a sum of money that could purchase a decent second hand vehicle. A little reassurance and a clear and often reinforced roadmap would go a long way. All that said, I would (and have) recommend Solar Advice to anyone interested in getting Solar or loadshedding set ups. Their website is fantastic and has a great tool to help you see what system you need, as well as many guides to help you understand how these systems work. Most of all, I would suggest that anyone in Cape Town getting a system through them has Mr De Silva's team install it.
