Cannot returnb/replace product I am not happy with

I made a decision to buy a rechargeable elctric breast pump because of of constant power cuts. Toys r us in Boksburg at the east rand mall on 25.02.2023. My wife has been using this unit for 2 days since 04.03.2023 & 05.03.2023, there are general problems. 1. The suction power is too soft and is not pumping. 2. Product promises 1.5hrs battery life but it is only lasting 10-15 minutes average.

I went to teh store 06.03.2023 at 09:00 andf spoke to Marrianne the store manager at the Toys/Babies R US and she told me i cannot replace or return the product for hygienic reasons. I ask went away and came back to get clarity on the store policy for returns and replacements and she pretty much told me I am stuck with the product because they cannot take it instead she suggested she can show me another manual product - so now she wants to make another sale for a different product while I am still stuck with the first product.

Product : Snookums Electric Breast Pump (Whisper Quite multiphase suction).

I am not happy with the store response because it seems marianne does not want to return item to her supplier so her advise if for me to keep a product i paid ZAR1400 for and is not up to expectations.

Dissapointed because all i want is to replace this product with a manual breast pump - at least a manual product i have used before and it was okay for its price.
