Zero after sales communication and slow delivery

Purchased a bunch of items for my kids. Days later sent a message using their online message portal which indicated order was “in process” querying when it would be delivered. No reply whatsoever. 2 weeks later with a still u delivered order I manage to contact them on their live platform - to be told order is delayed because 1 of the items was not available. Surely this could be communicated in some way. Dealing with my kids’ disappointment due to inefficient after sales service, and zero communication. Definitely don’t recommend buying from this vendor.
