SnapScan
I made a payment using SnapScan for tickets from Quicket. The platform used by Quicket is Payfast, and the option that I chose to facilitate the payment was SnapScan.
The amount that was actually taken off my bank account was R5000 over and above the cost of the tickets and the full amount of over R7000.was paid to Nimble Credit solutions, a debt recovery agency. Prior to this, I had never heard of this company. I also never received any tickets.
Since then, it has been a blame game between Payfast and SnapScan. I made contact with Payfast directly, and they have denied all knowledge of this transaction, and to quote from correspondence directly from them to me; “Furthermore, Nimble Credit Solutions, to whom the funds were directed is not affiliated to our network.’
According to Snapscan simultaneous QR codes were generated by Payfast and Pay@, and this resulted in the funds being incorrectly paid over to Nimble Credit Solutions.
After ten days, and sending SnapScan all the relevant documentation that was requested, such as my ID, proof that the amount came off my bank account, I have still not had the money paid back to me.
I have also made direct contact with Nimble Credit solutions, to ascertain whether or not they are in the process of returning the funds they received in error, to me. However it appears that their finance department is not in telephonic contact with the rest of their company.
Beware when using the SnapScan platform, as it is obvious that errors like this do occur, and when they do, the money that is taken out of your account is not readily returned.
