GARDEN CITIES - SMUTS & CO

Smuts and Co are attending to the transfer of a Garden Cities property into mine and my partners name. From the time we started dealing with them I expressed my reluctance to sign a building insurance policy for a property i do not own nor have an indication of when transfer will go through. Today, upon following up with the process (one doesn't receive updates from Smuts and co) I discovered that the whole process has been delayed by a month - meaning another month of occupational rent - as they only have the insurance quote for the building, but not the policy which should vaguely start some time in the future. Having used another company for the sale of my previous property, i cannot believe Garden Cities chooses to use this company considering the lack of attention to detail to clients in what must be a very lucrative contract for them. Tread with caution!
