Prejudice based on race/***ual orientation

On Friday, 13 February 2014, my boyfriend and I attended the Ultra SA music festival in Cape Town. Whilst at the venue, Smirnoff SA had a photo booth promoting Smirnoff Ice Double Black with Guarana. <br> As consumers of the product, we were asked to take a photograph in the photo booth and were excited to do so.<br> We took 4 photographs in total, however, only 3 photographs were displayed online. The photograph which was omitted was a photograph of us sharing a kiss on the lips.<br> At the time we did not take exception to the photograph being omitted as Smirnoff may have a policy against the publication of pictures of displays of affection and may have removed all photographs of such nature. <br> However, upon closer inspection, we came to realise that photographs of hetero***ual couples and a white *******ual female couple kissing were available.<br> The only reasonable inference to be drawn from this is that Smirnoff elected to remove the photograph of an interracial, *******ual couple kissing based on race and ***ual orientation.<br> We found this conduct to not only be disappointing but reprehensible in the new South Africa under our Constitutional dispensation.
