Empty promises and still no pool - no material and no refund - be warned

We started our pool with Smiley Pool Solutions towards the beginning of November 2021. It is now the end of January 2022 and we are sitting with a giant hole in the ground after having paid them R60 000.00

We have heard promise after promise from these guys that they are going to come and complete the pool but they keep failing to arrive.

The little bit of work that was done is mediocre, to say the least.

They shut down in December and promised to return in January, but no one has come back despite saying they would many times.

I have paid them for materials and for work that has not been completed and they refuse to refund me or to deliver the materials I gave them the money for.

3 months to complete a small pool is ludicrous, especially since they said it would take two weeks.

The owners of Smiley Pools use subcontractors for their jobs and when there are problems, they leave it to the contractors to sort out, who don’t.

I tried phoning multiple times, but I don’t hear back from the owners now.

Now, after giving them so many chances and requests to come to finish the job, I have to hire someone else.

It’s going to cost me a fortune to pay another contractor to fix and complete the job.
