BATHO PELE - Putting people first

As Miss Dome du Plessis foster & grandparents; our sincerest Thanks & Appreciation is hereby expressed to SMILES Driving Academy, Pretoria who in middle 2023 professionally planned, coordinated and executed Dome’s learner driving facilitation with a first-time success outcome. Owner, Martin Cronje went the extra mile by inviting Dome personally to his admin facility in Waverley, Pretoria so that Dome who struggle with ADHD, anxiety and stress could learn under close supervision and support from the female admin staff at the SMILES Driving Academy, and not just learn at home from the driver learning training material. This special care provided the necessary environment for somebody like Dome to learn decisively to reach her goal as planned.

Thereafter, it was followed up with physical Code B driving facilitation with a lot of patience and professionalism to a point where she was fluent and competent to execute her final physical test. Unfortunately, Dome could just not overcome her ADHD, anxiety and stress factors which caused her to fail twice (Once at Midrand and once at Rayton). Due to costs and training fatigue an operational pause was decided on and in the second quarter of 2024 Dome start via another Driver Training Institution to prepare for a final assessment onslaught and got a slot at Mogale City (previously known as Krugersdorp) local Municipality Motor Vehicle Driver Licencing & Registration Department. The outcome was a huge success and relief for Dome and all involved by then of which SMILES Driving Academy played an important role.

SMILES Driving Academy b.m.o. "Gerhard's" exemplary execution of physical driver training facilitation formed a firm basis for Dome to restart training from and after leaving them being an unsuccessful student; they did not lose faith in her ability of succeeding and leave her behind and/or forget about her but Martin contacted Dome in middle 2024 and provided her with “Pro Bono” physical driver training support by "Gerhard" which for sure added merit to the result in Dome’s joy & pride of concurring her fear of failing again BUT being third (3rd) time lucky & successful.

Martin, as owner/team leader and the conduct and dedication of SMILES Driving Academy as a team were beyond reproach, living out the slogan of “Batho Pele” - putting people first.

I will refer any-one to make use of SMILES Driving Academy due to the facts mentioned above and being an integral part of Dome's journey to obtain her Driving licence, Code B (Old Code 8) on Thursday, 01 August 2024.

Thanking You Guys!
