HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE- INJURY CAUSED BY WAITRESS - MANAGER/OWNER IGNORES CALLS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

Visited this restaurant (Smile - Cedar Square, Fourways) last week Thursday to order a take away... Waitress dropped a very heavy tray on my foot and caused me an extremely painful injury on my left foot. My foot turned blue and swollen and I could not step. The restaurant staff were extremely unempathic. When asked to speak to the manager one of the waiters claimed to be the manager but showed no remorse whatsoever! Eventually the real manager /owner Miguel Amaro pitched up at the scene and with a conspicuous voice tone expressed that he just heard what happened and he's sorry, offered me tea and a seat but I was in too much pain and tears because of the pain, I just wanted to get to the hospital. Miguel Amaro boldly stated that their insurance will cover "this" and pointed at my foot and stated that I should call him if I needed anything. He then got a waiter to give me his business card and walked away very abruptly. Other customers were in the store at the time and attention was drawn to this incident which clearly the restaurant manager/owner Miguel Amaro wanted to suppress this incident as to not gain a bad reputation for his restaurant and business. By this time my foot was even more swollen and looked worse. The waiters and waitress that injured me just walked away as well and carried on with what they were doing. I realised that I'd have to drive my self to the hospital and seek medical attention, I limped out of the restaurant and had to try to get to my vehicle in all the pain I was experiencing due to this injury. I managed to get home in all that pain and from home called an Uber to fetch me and transport me to the hospital. On my way to the hospital I tried phoning Miguel Amaro Smile restaurant owner/manager several times and even texted him twice requesting him to atleast meet me at the hospital as it would be his responsibility to cover the medical expenses and there was no answer to the calls or replies to my texts. At the hospital I tried contacting Miguel again and there was no response. In the mean time I needed to have my foot seen to for any broken bones or fractures. I eventually realised that I was being ignored and this incident was being taken very lightly. I had my foot attended to at the hospital all at my own cost and I am still trying to recover from this injury more than a week later. I have been on cruches and this has caused me a huge amount of inconvenience. I also now have to seek a second opinion on the injury of my foot. I have still not heard from restaurant manager/owner Miguel Amaro up to today and it is clear that he is not bothered with the responsibility and financial obligations he has as a result of one of his staff causing an injury to a customer who had the very good intention of supporting his business.
SMILE RESTAURANT CEDAR SQUARE FOURWAYS MANAGEMENT, YOUR
PROCLAIMED NAME HIGHLY CONTRADICTS THE EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD TO ENDURE and I suffer the many consequences of your lack of taking accountability and ownership for your negligence of the customer safety in your restaurant. This is also a proclaimed "family restaurant".
