SMG LANDROVER DURBAN PATHETIC SERVICE
My Range rover was taken in to Smg Landrover on the 11.07.2018. after 3 weeks Landrover ascertained that it was not a factory fault but rather a wire that was chewed by a rodent. nonetheless, my insurance covered the damage and have paid. i waited for 3 months patiently for the part to arrive from the UK. Not one did i complain but gave them the benefit and tried to understand. it is now 4 months on and Landrover now claim that i must pay for vehicle rental which amounts to over 20k due for the following: 1. the time period in which they diagnosed that it was not a factory fault. i.e they first gave me the courtesy vehicle and now that my vehicle is ready , they claim that due to the diagnosis not being a factory fault that i am liable for the rental. i returned the initial courtesy vehicle over this exact absurd issue and rented my own. i was told my vehicle would be ready in 30days. they also told me that the rental would be waivered and would request head office to pay as i waited so long. after 30 days they still could not get the part so they gave me anothe courtesy vehicle mid september. the vehicle was unfortuantely dented accidentally and my insurance is settling that matter. now they want me to pay for loss of use of the courtesy vehicle even though i still have not received my car!!! the delay in me not receiving my car is due to the clerk Leeanne insisting i pay and claim from my insurance. this is the same clerk who had been liasing with my insurer and even issued them the invoice. after that was finally resolved she and her superior then insisted that the payment must reflect in their account before they release my vehicle. i dont mind paying my excess cash. but now they refuse to release my vehicle based on the fact that they want payment for the courtesy vehicle and they feel that it is all related....
after 4 months this is the treatment i receive. this is the same landrover dealership which has profited from me over the past 7 years wherein i purchased 3 landrovers from them and even serviced my vehicles there.
what they are not stating is that their courtesy vehicles are privately owned by their managers and they need to make a buck on the customers.
i am furious and expect this matter to be resolved by land rover sa as the dealership is clearly abdicating responsibility and deviating from my argument.
