BMW door handles disntegrate due to oily hand palms

I took my 9 year old BMW 320D to SMG Cape Town @ Century City to report that the interior rubberized front door handles were disintegrating and leaving nasty black rubber stains on clothing, hands and front passengers in general. The consultant told me that he was aware of this problem. He looked up on the computer, and noticed that a brake fluid service was due in 3 months time, and suggested they could book the brake fluid service and look at the handles at the same time. When I asked for whose account the handles would be, he told me that an assessment would have to be done to determine who should pay. When I presented my car this morning, SMG was keen to get going on the brake fluid service , but I raised the issue of the door handles. I was immediately referred to the service manager, a Mr Johannes Erasmus. Immediately he told me that BMW were in no way liable for this, and it was not a defect, and that the door handle problem was entirely mine, as it was the oils on my hand palms that caused the disintegration of the door handles !!! My car has done 87 000 kms, and has been kept in a garage all along. When I suggested it was a BMW defect, he reiterated that it was definitely the oils on my hand. When I told him I had owned and driven 5 earlier BMW for more time and kms, and my oily hands had been no problem, he just shrugged his shoulders. When I told him that I had driven Toyota bakkies for 400 000 kms and more, and my oily hand palms had no ill effect, he just shrugged his shoulders. My experience with SMG Cape Town (at Century City) over the past 9 years has been constant. They will fleece you for every possible cent they can make out of you. They will shamelessly tell you about the oils in your hand that cause door handles of BMW's to disintegrate. Mr Johannes Erasmus has no interest in keeping customers happy, and a terrible manner of communicating. All SMG wanted to do was to make a quick Buck out of a premature brake fluid service. Shame on you SMG Cape Town, and shame on you Mr Erasmus, Why did you not just tell me it is due to the excessive hand sanitizer used, then at least BMW could also blame the sub standard door handles on Covid 19 !!! (The door handle problem has been prevalent for at least the past 3 years, so from 5 years old)
