Accident damage to latest BMWx6 whilst booked in
SMG BMW Century City serviced my 2015 model BMWX6 on 25 January 2016. To my dismay they notified me that one of their staff scratched the rear bumper of the car! I asked them to send me pictures as I'm currently out of town. They send the picture of the damaged vehicle and I was furious!! How does any stupid drywer bump a vehicle that is surrounded with cameras?! I then send my son who took the vehicle in to take more clear pictures and he then send me the second picture to proof they already busy fixing the car! How dare they work on my vehicle without my permission?! And just patching it up instead of replacing it with new parts!! It is the most pathetic service I have ever came across in my entire BMW life!! I have been driving the latest models BMW's for the past 15 years and never came across such!

Thank you for your post, it is regrettable that this occurred, and rest assured we view this matter in a very serious light.
We have been open and honest regarding this incident, and at no instance did we try and cover it up, that is why the after sales consultant communicated with you with a picture of the scratch.
As is the practice at SMG Cape Town, we take ownership of any problem;in this unique incident at our dealership, we opted to repair the small cosmetic scratch with no structural damage.
Our priority to to keep the client mobile, that is why the Aftersales Manager proceeded with the repair to facilitate the collection of the vehicle today as arranged, and the repair being so minor, that this could be done.
We do apologies yet again, and understand your anger of not being asked to proceed, but the repair needed to get done, and why not by a certified BMW Smart repair shop sooner than later.
As communicated, will meet to discuss this very unfortunate incident at a suitable time, where we hope to resolve this matter to your total satisfaction.
