Poor Communication and Terrible Service

SMG Cape Town - You have left me no choice but to complain about your service on social media. Maybe I will get a response this way. After having my car in your workshop for almost two weeks with very little to no communication, I am understandably annoyed. A procedure that was suppose to take 3 days (as per your communication) ended up being two weeks. I can even say that 5 days would have been acceptable to me because I am not unreasonable when it comes to deadlines.
My car went in on Tuesday. On Thursday my car was suppose to be ready. I had no communication from you and I decided to phone at 4:30pm
I was told you forgot to phone and tell me that you broke my windscreen
You then asked if you could claim it from my insurance ( ********* )
I said that its unacceptable to claim it from my insurance and that you would have to claim it from yours.
On Friday I phoned for an update and was told that the claim was discussed with management and that a windscreen replacement will be arranged.
My car was also there for alterations to the Tow-bar after I was notified that the Tow-bar was installed too close to the exhaust and it had to be altered.
SMG Cape Town then let me know on Monday that they have no record of the Tow-bar being installed by SMG Cape Town and that any work on the Tow-bar would be for my account. I then emailed them the proof of payment made to SMG Cape Town.
After phoning you again you then said that the Tow-bar company can only come out on Tuesday to have a look and that my Windscreen was not replaced yet.
On Tuesday I get a phone call to say that the Tow-bar Company came out to have a look and said that they did not fit the Tow-bar. My natural response was - How am I supposed to know who installed the Tow-bar. I paid SMG Cape Town to fit the Tow-bar. I was then told that the Tow-bar is 3 years old and that I would have to pay for alternations. The problem with the Tow-bar was not new and it took the workshop 3 years to figure out what was wrong. Surely that is not my fault.
The windscreen was replaced on Wednesday. By then I emailed Customer Service with my complaint and haven’t had a response from them yet. On Wednesday I was told that the manager would look at the Tow-bar. Later in the day I received a phone call to say that I must have bumped the Tow-bar and that it’s bent, that is why it’s too close to the exhaust. Really??? Surely I would have known that I bumped the Tow-bar. So now we are at excuse number 3 as to why you would not work on the Tow-bar. After saying that I would have to take it further you then decided to order a part to fit around the exhaust so that the Tow-bar doesn’t make a noise.
Does this actually fix the problem or is it just so that I don’t hear the problem?? Is my Tow-bar bent or is it not? I would like things to be 100%. I am now told that the Tow-bar is fine and that I will have no problems. How is that possible with a rubber being fitted? No communication again. I then received my car back on Friday. Not even cleaned!! I understand that SMG Cape Town does not wash cars anymore but that does not mean that my car can’t be cleaned inside. There are marks left on the upholstery where the dashboard was taken out to fix the Air con. Apparently they will come and collect my car. So I was told on Monday. It’s Wednesday now. Oh and by the way the Air-con is still the same. Not blowing strong or cold enough….
