WISH I COULD GET A REFUND

I bought a ****** and recovered Toyota yaris with reference BBN137F from SMD Pretoria West. Upon fetching it, I asked about police clearance and was told it has been cleared already. I then took the vehicle for roadworthy test and was informed that I need to get a macroDot certificate and police clearance. I called SMD head office and also went to the branch but they were unable to give me any of those documents, they only re-confirmed verbally that the car has been cleared and I shouldn't worry about police clearance anymore. The following day I decided to visit Benoni Police Vehicle Clearance Center to double check with them if I really don't need police clearance, and their response contradicted what I've been told at SMD. Nevertheless, I then attempted to get the clearance but they couldn't find some number on the car which appeared on their system. Quickly, I rushed to the SMD branch where I was made to wait for three hours until I asked for the manager. With attitude, the manager said I should come back on Monday. I've been moving up and down with a vehicle that is not legally licensed to be on the road and I'm spending more money on transport, bribing traffic cops and missing work to just get the right documentation for the car.

Good day,

As discussed telephonically, we see that the issue lies with the road worthy centre.

We consider this resolved from SMD's side.

Thank you.
