They try to rip you off when selling your car to them.
2 weeks ago I decided to sell my car on auction at SMD. I filled in the form online and then I was called and made arrangement to go there. Pictures were taken and all information needed to make an offer. Later the same day I was given an offer of R52,000 which was lower than what I was looking at. The guy I was dealing with is Evan. After about 2 weeks I texted the number that sent me the offer to inform them that I've decided to take the offer if it still exist. I was told it is and arrangements were made for me to take the car to SMD Boksburg. When I got there I had to wait for about an hour. The guy who took pictures initially helped me. The other guy, Evan asked him to take pictures again which he did including interior. The guy drove the car to make sure it was driving and he then took it into their premises where they keep cars to be sold. I waited as the guy was busy with the computer and even took all my details including ID, car docs and bank details. He then told me that Evan, will call me. So I waited for Evan to call me. Evan told me that the disc has expired and he will offer me R48,000. He asked what's the lowest and I told him R52,000 isn't even my lowest. I was taking it because I needed cash. He then offered me R50,000 because of the disc. I told him when I brought in the car they took pictures including the disc which showed it had expired. Their offer was based on all that. I said I'll take R51,00 he said he can only offer me R50,000, that's all. I asked why didn't they allow me to drive all the way to their place before negotiating the offer. I had to take time off work. I wasted my time and my petrol to go their premises while they knew the weren't prepared to commit to their earlier offer. I then decided to go with my car. Later on Evan comes back and offer me R51,000. Do they expect me to drive back to SMD Boksburg and waste petrol and time gain to be told stories? I was greatly inconvenienced. I'M DISGUSTED. If you want to sell your car to SMD, be careful, they try to push you to the corner and change their offer last minute. They hope that since your car is already been booked into their systems you'll take whatever they change their offer to. They're using your desperation to rip you off.
The offer on your vehicle was lowered due to the following.
*Expired Disc- SMD not knowing the correct amount that would be required for pay the licensing fees the amount offered had to be lowered.
*Penalty Fees -The disc being expired there were additional penalty fees onto of the expenses of the disc.
* Misleading Image -The offer was made according to the images sent by you, these images were found to be misleading.

I took the vehicle to your Boksburg branch where pictures were taken by your staff member. I brought the car to your branch to be valued which pictures with the disc were taken. The offer was made on pictures taken by your staff which included the picture of the disc. Your people were just trying to pressure me into selling lower than what they offered.
