Suspected ***** and Inside Job at SMD (****med me my Money)

Dear SMD Management,

I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding a suspected case of ***** involving your company and what I firmly believe to be an inside job by some of your employees.

I recently participated in a vehicle bidding process on your official website, smd.co.za. On 8th October 2024, I received an email from SMD informing me that I had won the bid. The email contained specific payment instructions as follows:

• Reference: S-ARP***0 • Amount Due: R34,385.00 • Expiry Date: 9th October 2024 • Account Holder: Salvage Management and Disposals • Bank: FNB/RMB • Branch Code: 250655 • Account Number: ***

However, when I contacted SMD for confirmation, I was informed that the bank details provided in the email do not belong to SMD. Despite this, both the amount due and reference number were identical to the original pro forma invoice I received via your website.

And I had already deposited R29 385.00 as I already had R5000 on my SMD account

SMD has informed me that an investigation is underway, but I must express my deep concern that this ***** appears to be the work of your own employees. How else could someone have access to my winning bid details, reference number, and the exact amount due? This is clearly an inside job, and I feel like SMD is not taking this matter seriously.

I have attempted to communicate with Cecil and Boitumelo, who were copied in my previous emails, but I have yet to receive any responses. Despite sending multiple follow-up emails, including copying your *** address, I have not received a single update regarding the status of this so-called investigation. The lack of transparency and communication from your team is extremely concerning.

To make matters worse, I recently noticed that the vehicle I "won" is now back on auction without any explanation or communication from SMD. This behavior only reinforces my suspicion that this is a deliberate ****, orchestrated by individuals within your company. I am highly disappointed and feel as though I have been ******.

I demand immediate clarification regarding this matter and an official response addressing these serious concerns. If no action is taken, I will be left with no option but to escalate this issue to the relevant authorities.

SMD must be held accountable for the *****ulent activity taking place under its name, and I expect a prompt resolution to this matter.
